Today, oobe is proud to announce an end-to-end solution – Perimeta for Azure – that provides customers with the ability to consume services from Microsoft Azure’s Australia Central cloud regions up to the PROTECTED government security classification.
Perimeta allows customers to get the most out of hyperscale cloud computing by securely extending your network, identity and security boundaries directly into Azure. Confidently deploy solutions knowing that trusted controls, processes and automation are in place to encapsulate and protect your presence in the cloud, silently maintaining the security and integrity of your systems and data.
A unique difference of these newly announced Azure regions is the capability to locate existing systems, private clouds, specialised networking or safety-critical systems within the same facilities as Azure, and indeed directly connected to Azure. The hybrid flexibility, performance and security this delivers enables the modernisation of even the most complex applications. Along with direct connectivity within these facilities and direct connectivity over the private Australian Government ICON network, Microsoft Azure now offers a unique capability for high-performance, very low latency networking between these two Australian Central regions.
Stephen Tys, Director, oobe:
“…After the announcement in August 2017 of the two new Azure regions Microsoft was bringing to Canberra, oobe quickly understood that you couldn’t just plug the government directly into the cloud. Having worked with some of government's most secretive organisations, oobe understands security. Perimeta is a culmination of thousands of hours of research and development by oobe bringing together the best technologies and services available from Azure and years of relevant industry experience.
“…As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we intimately understand Azure and we also understand that customers can drive the most value from the cloud when treating it as an extension to their environments as opposed to consuming cloud as an island outside. We worked in conjunction with Microsoft in bringing Perimeta to market as we understood there was a clear gap between where Microsoft's responsibility had to end, and where a customer's responsibility had to begin; building upon the PROTECTED-level certification.”
Mark Leigh, Director, Commercial Partner, Microsoft Australia, said:
“…Working with our valued partners we can help accelerate the modernisation of Australia and New Zealand public sector and national critical infrastructure, assisting our customers to deliver a new era of efficiency and innovation, and smarter services for citizens and businesses.”
